StartupDiff displays a list of the computer's programs that will run when the computer starts. StartupDiff alerts the user when an item is added to, or deleted from, the list since the last time the program was run. A remembered item, as designated by the user, identifies a program that the user desires to run at startup. Thus, StartupDiff will not generate an alert for a remembered item in the startup list, but it will generate an alert when a remembered item is deleted. Only non-remembered items generate alerts when added. Only remembered items generate alerts when deleted. Remembered items that are deleted will be removed from the remembered list. If all of this is confusing, just try StartupDiff! Listings are truncated at 255 characters. Right-clicking on an item will copy the key to the Windows clipboard. If a startup program exists twice in Windows, such as in both the Windows registry and a Windows startup directory, StartupDiff will list the item only once. StartupDiff does not alter any startup programs, directories, or registry keys. It simply displays and tracks the items.
